History of KOSHISH
Koshish was established in 2008 by Dr. Rajkumar (MBBS,
MD). Originally it was launched to promote integrated
development of urban slums and rural poor, deprived
and unreached communities. The aim was to provide food, accommodation
and education to children whose lives had been disrupted.
The prime activities include provisioning of services and awareness creation in the areas of Health, education women empowerment, social evils and Disaster Management.
The establishment of KOSHISH was the outcome of long term efforts and vision of a committed team, passionate towards social work. Dr. Rajkumar, who is the founder of KOSHISH, had been working for the cause of downtrodden women and children, even years prior to its establishment. The founder member, joined hands with likeminded friends and acquaintances who being technocrats and professional took up this noble task for the cause of people living in urban slums and rural areas of Punjab especially Hoshiarpur where development process has slowed down due to poverty, ignorance and illiteracy. Since that time, our approach to humanitarian assistance has evolved to long-term community development and assistance that helps children, their families and their communities in developing nation.
